It’s no secret that I am practical. Notice the name of my blog? I am forever looking for easy choices to simplify parenting. Making lunches is no exception. So, if I was an inventive and real foodie – I would have whipped together a taste sensation lunch that everyone will devour. However, my kids don’t appreciate my culinary prowess. They are boring eaters – which means I am resorting to being a mom getting through every lunch one at a time.
So here’s my invention. My own Dempster’s lunch time helper. It’s called mix and match your sandwich.
Just choose an item from each section (or be daring – add 2 or 3!) and make your sandwich. Better yet, have your child choose! Let them pull together their own sandwiches when you are planning out your weekly menu. You can add to this chart by including foods your child will eat – the list will likely be longer than mine!
Print out the chart and away you go… hundreds of options.

Tip: Are your kids complaining about soggy sandwiches? Either keep the filling between lettuce to protect the bread, OR pack the fillings separately and have your child put them all together themselves at lunch time!
Good luck!
